Every Christian Has a Mission – Empowered by the Holy Spirit
When Jesus ascended into heaven, He didn’t leave His followers without direction.
Instead, He gave them a clear mission: to make disciples, share the Gospel and demonstrate God’s love to the world.
It was an enormous task.
Yet Jesus also promised they wouldn’t have to do it alone.
He would send the Holy Spirit to empower them.
At our church in Stockport, we believe that promise still applies today.

Jesus invited those who were spiritually thirsty to come to Him.
That invitation still stands today.
God delights in filling people who genuinely desire a closer relationship with Him.
This isn’t about striving harder or becoming more religious.
It’s about recognising our need for God’s presence and allowing Him to work in our lives.
As we pray, worship and seek Him daily, the Holy Spirit shapes our character and gives us strength for the journey ahead.

The early Church began with just 120 believers gathered in prayer.
From those humble beginnings, the Gospel spread across continents and transformed countless lives.
That reminds us that God often starts with ordinary people who simply say yes to Him.
Today, Christians continue to serve their communities through compassion, generosity and practical love.
