Flexibility Gets You Ahead of the Pack
Finally, embracing flexibility positions us for growth and leadership.
Obed-Edom’s whole family became leaders among temple guards (1 Chronicles 26:4–8). His willingness to adjust, serve and worship meant that he and his descendants rose to prominence.
In church, in work, and in life, if we can discern the voice of God and move flexibly with Him, we will advance rather than decline. Flexibility can feel uncomfortable at first – it brings insecurity and challenges – but it leads to fruitfulness.
Many voices will try to pull you off course, but God’s voice will keep you on the right ladder. Flexibility enables Him to mould us into who we were designed to be.
There’s even a link to finances: Obed-Edom, or possibly his descendants, became responsible for managing the Temple treasuries (2 Chronicles 25:24). When we flex, take faith risks, and manage new areas of responsibility, financial blessings often follow because God can trust us.
Friends, Jesus spent three years developing His disciples. They had to flex up – and so do we. If we are too stiff and inflexible, we will miss the incredible opportunities God is placing right before us.
