Favour, Faithfulness, and Using Your Gifts in Tough Times
One of the most inspiring aspects of Joseph’s story is how he remained faithful, regardless of his circumstances.
Whether managing a household or serving in prison, Joseph gave his best. He didn’t wait for ideal conditions—he worked with excellence right where he was.
And as a result, God gave him favour.
In **Book of Genesis 39, we see that everything Joseph did succeeded because the Lord was with him. This favour wasn’t accidental—it was connected to his faithfulness and attitude.
For us today, especially as a church in Manchester, this is a powerful reminder.
Many people face challenges in their workplaces or studies. When things get difficult, the temptation is to quit or look for an easier path. But Joseph’s example encourages us to stay the course.
Faithfulness matters.
Developing a strong work ethic, maintaining a positive attitude, and serving others well can open doors we never expected. Prayer plays a key role in this. When we pray over our work, our leaders, and our colleagues, we invite God’s favour into those environments.
In **Epistle to the Colossians 3:23, we are encouraged to work wholeheartedly, as if working for the Lord. This shifts our perspective—our work is not just about human approval, but about honouring God.
Joseph also used his gifts, even in tough times. He didn’t bury his abilities—he developed them. Over time, what once felt overwhelming became manageable, and eventually, he thrived.
The same can happen for us.
Sometimes, we step into opportunities that feel beyond our abilities. But through perseverance, prayer, and growth, we become equipped for what God has called us to do.
So whatever season you are in right now, don’t hold back.
Use your gifts. Stay faithful. Pray consistently.
Because even in tough times, God is able to bring growth, favour, and breakthrough.
And just like Joseph, your current season may be preparing you for something far greater ahead.
