Someone’s Watching – Your Stance Is Being Observed
How you stand in tough times doesn’t just affect you — it influences everyone around you. Gideon’s men were being watched, and so are we. In Judges 7, we see that our stance in difficulty is a testimony in itself.
The Test of the Spring
As Gideon’s army faced exhaustion after years of war, they came to a spring to drink. Some knelt and buried their faces in the water. Others scooped water while standing — still alert, eyes scanning for the enemy.
God chose the standing ones. Why? Because in a combat zone, a warrior doesn’t drop his guard. Those who knelt weren’t bad — just distracted, unaware of their vulnerability.
The Watching World
Every day, people observe how we handle stress, loss, and uncertainty — our children, colleagues, friends, even our critics. They notice whether we panic or persevere. As Christians, we’re called to maintain a warrior’s stance: alert, calm, and spiritually awake.
Ephesians 6:11 says, “Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” How we stand in hardship speaks louder than how we worship on Sunday.
Sumo Stance Faith
A few months ago, the Grand Sumo Tournament came to the Royal Albert Hall — the first in over thirty years. The winner, Hōshōryū from Mongolia, was unstoppable. His stance was unshakable — immovable, powerful, focused.
That’s what God wants for us — Sumo stance faith. A stance that’s rooted, unmovable, and steadfast, no matter what comes against us. God wants to put some “Sumo stance” in you — a strength that tells the world, “I belong to Him.”
Live Like Someone’s Watching
How you live, react, and respond to pressure is being observed. You might be the only Bible someone ever reads. So let them read hope, courage, and conviction in your stance.
