From Self-Creation to True Life
We live in an age obsessed with self-definition. The message is everywhere: “Be whoever you want to be. Live however you choose. Define your own truth.” It sounds empowering—liberating, even. But when taken to its ultimate conclusion, self-creation often leads not to fulfilment, but to isolation and emptiness.
When we decide to be our own source of meaning, we take on a burden we were never meant to carry. Without an anchor outside of ourselves, every choice becomes a guess, every setback a threat to our identity. In the pursuit of freedom, we end up enslaved to the constant need to reinvent ourselves.

This is the heart of the Christian message: God loves you as you are, but He loves you too much to leave you there. His goal isn’t to suppress your individuality, but to align it with the purpose He had in mind from the very beginning. In that alignment, you discover a freedom far greater than the fragile autonomy our culture celebrates.
