Testing and Qualifying Your Apostolic Calling
In Luke 10:1-3, Jesus sends out seventy-two disciples to minister and spread the Gospel. This was not just about reaching more people; it was also a test to help the disciples discover their strengths and calling. Some would have realised they were gifted as pastors, others as evangelists, and some as apostles.
Every day, we are tested in our workplaces and communities. Our interactions with colleagues, the way we lead, and the initiatives we take on all reveal aspects of our spiritual gifting. The apostolic gift, in particular, is tested through challenges that require vision, strategy, and leadership.
Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 3:5-9 that our role is not about seeking status but about planting, watering, and growing what God has given us. Apostolic people thrive when they see growth and change happening around them. They are not content with maintaining the status quo; they seek to advance the Kingdom wherever they are placed.
